Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to create their own car. Guests sit at a series of pictures referred to as "mood stations" and pick a collection of photos ranging from scenic landscapes to sporting events that are inspiring to them. After each selection is made, a pattern emerges that reveals the model and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.

The guests receive a key case made by hand that houses the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can also be equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps which light the door's opening pathway with the owner's name or logo when they arrive at the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours in order to create and put together the typical Mulsanne. The inability to adopt new technology is the key to this time-consuming task. The Crewe factory workers do not use a machine to space perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. Drivers must park their cars manually, rather than using sensors built into the vehicle to direct them to perpendicular and paralell spots.

During the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities using one of a kind of the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founding father of the brand, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited-edition cars include one key that features a small portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
